To promote sustainable and environmentally friendly gardening to members and the wider community through meetings, field trips, public displays and community involvement.To encourage the involvement of the whole family in the Tamborine Sustainable Gardeners Society and in sustainable gardening and living.To increase knowledge of sustainable systems through the collection and sharing of information.
The Meetings are held on the last Saturday of each month at members’ properties, starting at 8.30am. Meetings include a guest speaker, garden tour, problem corner, show and tell, morning tea, raffle and a small section of club business. Children are welcome.
The bimonthly newsletter, “Groundswell”, provides articles by members, reports of meetings and excursions, links to websites and many other topics of interest to gardening and sustainability.
A comprehensive collection of books, magazines and equipment is available for loan.
Excursions to places of interest are arranged several times a year.
Bulk purchases of garden products such as fertilisers, mulches, seeds and other materials relating to gardening are available to members at a reduced rate.
The club has a collection of vegetable and other seeds for planting. These seeds are provided free of charge to members.
